President Prabowo kicked off the National Solidarity Movement (GSN) at the Indonesia Arena in the Gelora Bung Karno Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Saturday, November 2, 2024. He was joined by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, along with several ministers and party officials who were also present for the GSN declaration.
In front of President Prabowo Subianto, thousands of GSN members expressed their commitment to support the government in a critical, objective, constructive, and productive way to help drive development and find solutions.
The idea for GSN originally stemmed from a proposal to transform the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN) into a community organization. Prabowo suggested this during a breaking of fast event with the TKN on March 25, 2024. The GSN aims to bring together individuals from all walks of life, regardless of race, religion, or region, ensuring that the bonds formed last beyond the election period.
During the event, Prabowo also announced that Rosan Roeslani, who heads the Prabowo-Gibran TKN, would take the lead in the National Solidarity Movement. The GSN's vision is to unite all Indonesians by gathering significant ideas and turning them into real solutions for the community and the nation's advancement.
GSN's primary goal is to come up with solutions that the government can adopt, either with their backing or using GSN's own resources. As for the name National Solidarity Movement, Rosan clarified that it's more than just a couple of words; it's a unified concept. National Solidarity goes beyond just mending fences after elections; it's really about collaborating for the greater good of Indonesia.
