The Inauguration Ceremony For Newly Elected House Members For The 2024 – 2029 Term

The formal inauguration of the members of the House of Representatives (DPR), the Regional Representative Council (DPD), and the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 term took place on Tuesday, October 1, at the DPR/MPR building in Senayan, Jakarta. A total of 580 representatives from eight political parties and 84 electoral districts were officially sworn in as members of the DPR for this legislative period.

The outcomes of the 2024 legislative elections reveal that the DPR for the 2024-2029 term consists of eight factions from parties that exceeded the 4 percent parliamentary threshold. These parties are PDIP, Golkar, Gerindra, PKB, NasDem, PKS, Demokrat, and PAN. The distribution of seats is as follows: PDIP holds 110 seats, Golkar has 102 seats, Gerindra possesses 86 seats, NasDem has 69 seats, PKB has 68 seats, PKS has 53 seats, PAN has 48 seats, and Demokrat has 44 seats.

The swearing-in ceremony for the members of the Indonesian House of Representatives for the 2024-2029 term is conducted by the interim Speaker of the House, who is selected from a group of six representatives, including both the youngest and oldest members of the assembly.

Furthermore, the leadership roles in the House of Representatives have been allocated based on the number of seats each party holds, as detailed below:
