The Foundation Of The Superholding BUMN To Be Launched On November 8

The government will launch the Investment Management Agency of Daya Anagata Nusantara (BP Investasi Danantara) on November 8, 2024. The launch of this new superholding for state-owned enterprises will be led by President Prabowo Subianto.
This was announced by the head of BP Investasi Danantara, Muliaman Darmansyah Hadad, after attending a limited meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, October 28, 2024.
"There is a plan to launch it on the 8th (of November), officially by the President," he said, as reported by Antara.
He mentioned that President Prabowo has given directions during the meeting to ensure the launch of BP Investasi Danantara is well-prepared. The former head of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) stated that the launch will be directly overseen by President Prabowo.
Additionally, Muliaman noted that the establishment of Danantara involves revising the Law on State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN). "Yes, that's correct. There will be preparations for the law regarding Danantara," he said in response to questions about the BUMN law revision.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto established the Investment Management Agency of Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara). This agency will manage all government investment assets outside the state budget.
The Investment Management Agency, as its name suggests, is tasked with managing investments outside the state budget. All government assets that are separated will be managed by this agency. However, this will be done gradually, starting with the establishment of the agency and the creation of the law, said Muliaman after the inauguration at the Presidential Palace complex on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
Muliaman further explained that this agency will serve as the foundation for a superholding of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs). Unlike the Ministry of SOEs, the Investment Management Agency will focus specifically on investment management.
"First, there will be a consolidation, the law will be created, and then we will reach the end state. Discussions will take place with the relevant ministries on how this agency should be realized. The main goal is to manage scattered investments and leverage them. For example, government assets managed by various ministries will be combined into one, allowing us to leverage and manage them effectively," he elaborated.
