PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) has played a key role as the main contractor in the development of the Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) Airport project. They successfully facilitated the inaugural landing of President Joko Widodo on the Presidential RJ-85 aircraft at Nusantara Airport in East Kalimantan on Tuesday (September 24).

The arrival of the plane was celebrated with a water salute, marking a significant moment for the airport's operations. Among those present to witness the historic landing were Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Deputy Minister of ATR/BPN and Acting Deputy Head of OIKN Raja Juli Antoni, Acting Governor of East Kalimantan Akmal Malik, East Kalimantan Police Chief Irjen Pol Drs. Nanang Avianto, Commander of the VI/Mulawarman Military Region Mayjen TNI Tri Budi Utomo, Acting Regent of Penajam Paser Utara Muhammad Zainal Arifi, Head of the IKN Development Task Force PUPR Danis H. Sumadilaga, and Yul Ari Pramuraharjo, Director of Operations for PTPP's Infrastructure Division.

Currently, the IKN Airport project has made significant progress, featuring a runway measuring 2200 x 45 meters, capable of accommodating three narrow-body aircraft or one narrow-body aircraft along with three helicopters. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024, with plans to support seven narrow-body aircraft (like Boeing 737 or Airbus A320) and three wide-body aircraft, featuring a runway of 3000 x 60 meters.

During the inaugural landing, President Joko Widodo expressed his gratitude for the successful arrival of the presidential aircraft at Nusantara Airport. "Alhamdulillah, this is the first landing, and everything went well and smoothly. This is my first time landing at Nusantara Airport," the President stated, as quoted in an official release received by Kontan on Friday (September 30). Following this, the President conducted an inspection of the IKN Airport project and walked along the runway, expressing appreciation for the smooth landing.

Mulus, it’s really nice! The airport isn’t too big, but it’s definitely more than enough, said Jokowi at IKN Airport. Yul Ari Pramuraharjo, the Operations Director of PTPP Infrastructure, expressed pride over the successful landing of the President's plane at the IKN Airport project. “Thank goodness the President's inaugural flight at Nusantara Airport went off without a hitch. PTPP, as the main contractor, is really proud to be a significant part of this historic moment,” Yul Ari shared. PTPP is optimistic about completing the IKN Airport project by the end of 2024, stating that the construction of Nusantara Airport will keep moving forward. “With our strong commitment, we’re confident we’ll finish this project with top-notch quality, on time, with zero accidents, and meeting all the required standards,” Yul Ari concluded.
