Public transportation is essential for the success of the 10-Minute City concept. This was highlighted by Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi during the launch ceremony of "Citra Raya 10-Minute City" in Tangerang on Thursday (September 19). "In the 10-Minute City concept, public transport is key. Collaboration with the government is crucial. That's why the Ministry of Transportation is pushing everyone to provide adequate mass transportation facilities, not just in Tangerang but across Indonesia," the Minister stated. He praised the 10-Minute City concept implemented by Citra Raya Tangerang, a 2,760-hectare residential area developed by Ciputra Group. According to him, this concept offers incredible benefits, including improving the quality of life for its residents. "I appreciate the initiative taken by Citra Raya Tangerang and all stakeholders in applying the 10-Minute City concept. It not only makes it easier for people to access facilities within 10 minutes but also enhances their quality of life and fosters an eco-friendly community," he added. The Minister explained that the surge in urbanization in Indonesia, especially in the Jabodetabek area, without adequate land provision could lead to urban sprawl, worsen traffic congestion, and harm the environment. "To tackle this, we need sustainable city planning and improved public transport services," he emphasized. Furthermore, he called on everyone to collaborate, innovate, and support the implementation of the 10-Minute City for a comfortable and sustainable future in Tangerang. "Importantly, I hope this concept can serve as a model for other cities in Indonesia," he concluded.
Present at the event were PJ Bupati Tangerang Andi Ony, Tatan Rustandi, the Secretary of the Directorate General of Land Transportation, Dedy Cahyadi, the Secretary of BPTJ, Budiarsa Sastrawinata, Managing Director of Ciputra Group, and Agussurja Widjaja, Senior Director of Ciputra Group.
