The utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) within the global community to assist in various tasks has become an unavoidable aspect of modern life, particularly due to its rapid growth.
However, many individuals still experience difficulty and hesitation when it comes to engaging with generative AI, such as seeking solutions to simplify their daily activities.
Muriel Makarim, Country Marketing Manager for Google Indonesia, has shared several tips for beginners interested in leveraging generative AI technologies like Gemini, developed by Google.
"There are indeed individuals who feel apprehensive about how to pose questions to Gemini. We have provided a selection of question prompts that can be used as a starting point. From there, if the responses lack detail, we can further elaborate on the ideas presented in those answers," Muriel stated in Jakarta on Thursday.
According to Muriel, Gemini users should not hesitate to continuously ask questions. In fact, the more specific inquiries or requests made, the better the generative AI can provide ideas that align with the user's needs.
Regarding the choice of language in questions or prompts, Muriel suggests that users should utilize the language they commonly use in daily life, without the necessity for excessive formality.
This approach allows for a better understanding of Gemini as a generative AI, enabling it to grasp user preferences more effectively in the future.
"Gemini can understand everyday language as well. So, using terms like 'gue-lo' or casual expressions, similar to how one would speak with friends, is perfectly fine. There is no need to overthink in order to receive quality responses. The essence of new technology is to embrace trial and error repeatedly without concern," she stated.
Lastly, it is important to remember that in order to remain aligned with norms and ethics in utilizing generative AI, the ideas provided to users should be further developed by the users themselves.
Gemini serves as a collaborative partner in the creation of works rather than merely providing definitive solutions. Therefore, its use, especially for commercial purposes, must be approached with consideration for ethical standards.
"Thus, the responses from Gemini serve as initial prompts or starting ideas. For these ideas to be further developed and commercialized, users must adhere to regulations, ensuring that no patents or intellectual property rights are infringed upon; this responsibility lies with the users," Muriel concluded.
