The Pursuit Of A Healthy Lifestyle Among Women Has Become A Necessity For The Urban Community In Yogyakarta

A healthy lifestyle has emerged as a new symbol of awareness, particularly among urban youth. The trend of physical activity is on the rise, ranging from morning walks to cycling. However, the majority of the public remains focused on cardio exercises, despite the fact that strength training is equally vital for maintaining overall fitness. 

Zulmi Azhar Atriansyah, CEO of Wzone Gym Studio, noted that 90% of current healthy lifestyle trends revolve around cardio. He emphasized that strength training is far more essential, especially for women over the age of 30. 

"Every year, women's muscle mass decreases by approximately 1%. This issue extends beyond physical appearance; it also pertains to long-term health," Zulmi stated during the inauguration of Wzone Gym Studio at XT Square Complex in Jogja on Sunday, April 20, 2025. 

He pointed out that in a world increasingly exposed to processed and fast foods, the demand for effective fitness programs is becoming more urgent. "In Indonesia, the primary motivation for going to the gym is weight loss, but that is insufficient. It must be accompanied by muscle development, as that is where the balance lies," he explained. 

Zulmi further remarked that the awareness of exercise in the age of artificial intelligence (AI) is no longer a choice but a necessity. "Exercise is as essential as eating or praying—it must be done. There is no excuse for inactivity," he asserted. 

Therefore, the need for women to lead a healthy lifestyle should also be supported by dedicated fitness centers. He noted that many young mothers wish to exercise but hesitate due to discomfort in mixed-gender gym environments, and Wzone aims to address this need. 

"Many young mothers want to work out but hold back because they feel uneasy training in spaces shared with men. Here, they can feel free, confident, and comfortable in their own bodies," he concluded.
