WhatsApp Launches 12 New Features Simultaneously, What Are They?

WhatsApp has officially launched 12 new features for its users, aimed at enhancing both convenience and security. 

Typically, new features undergo extensive testing through a beta version before their release; however, this time, WhatsApp has opted for a direct mass rollout. Below is a summary of the latest features: 

Firstly, users can now see which group members are currently online, displayed directly beneath the group name. Secondly, there is an option to receive only important notifications from groups, such as mentions, replies, or messages from saved contacts. 

Thirdly, users can create events within private chats, utilizing an RSVP feature, adding companions, and specifying start and end times for the event. Events can also be pinned within the chat. 

Fourthly, users can replicate others' emoji reactions with a single tap. Fifthly, iOS users can now scan and send documents directly from the WhatsApp application. 

Sixthly, WhatsApp can now be set as the default messaging and calling app on the latest iOS. Seventhly, iOS users can pinch the screen to zoom in during video calls. 

Eighthly, new participants can be added to one-on-one calls directly from the chat room. Ninthly, the quality of video calls has been improved and can automatically switch to HD if the connection allows. 

Tenthly, channel admins can record and share short videos of up to 60 seconds. Eleventhly, automatic transcripts for voice messages in channels are now available. 

According to WaBetaInfo on Monday (April 13, 2025), lastly, admins can create unique QR codes to facilitate easier sharing of channels.
