Qualcomm Schedules Flagship Snapdragon Launch Event

Friday, 04 Apr 2025

Qualcomm has scheduled a new product launch event that is ready to be held on April 2, 2025. This event will be used to introduce Qualcomm's next-generation flagship chipset, although it is not a more powerful version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Quoting GSM Arena, this next-generation chipset is said to be the successor to the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset released last year, and supports upper-middle-class devices such as the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, Honor 200 Pro, and Poco F6.

According to the latest rumors, the 8s Gen 4 chipset will carry a 1 + 3 + 2 + 2 architecture with a main core of 1x Cortex-X4 clocked at 3.21GHz, 3x Cortex-A720 3.01GHzm 2x Cortex-A720 2.8GHx, and 2x Cortex-A720 2.02GHz.

Qualcomm is expected to feature the Adreno 825 CPU, similar to the Adreno 830 that powers the SD 8 Elite but with fewer cores, as well as 6MB of SLC cache and 8MB of L3 cache. The chipset is said to have scored over two million on AnTuTu.

The first batch of phones powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset is expected to launch in April, with the first smartphones being the iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro and Redmi Turbo 4 Pro.

Previously, the latest leak from leakster Gadgetsdata confirmed the previous leak and added more information. The leakster said the Snapdragon 8s Elite is powered by a 4nm CPU consisting of one 3.21GHz Cortex X4 Core, three 3.01GHz Cortex A720 cores and two 2.80GHz & 2× 2.02GHz Cortex A520 cores.

Unfortunately, the chipset that is accompanied by the Adreno 825 GPU is not supported by the Oryon core, although the leakster also said that this chipset was able to achieve a score of up to two million when tested using the AnTuTu benchmark.

Meanwhile, Qualcomm has officially introduced a special chipset for handheld gaming. This indicates that Qualcomm will compete directly with the AMD Ryzen Z Series which has been present for several years as a special chipset for handheld gaming.

In 2022, the Razer Edge handheld has used the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1. Now Qualcomm has announced the Snapdragon G Series consisting of the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3, Snapdragon G2 Gen 2, and Snapdragon G1 Gen 2.
