President Prabowo Subianto officially inaugurated 31 Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors of the Republic of Indonesia to various friendly nations. The ceremony took place at the State Palace, Presidential Complex, Jakarta, on Monday, March 24, 2025. The oath-taking process for the ambassadors was directly led by President Prabowo, in accordance with Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 25/P and 40/P of 2025 regarding the appointment of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors. This decree was read by Nanik Purwanti, Deputy for Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of State Secretariat.
According to Kompas.com, the inauguration ceremony commenced with the singing of the national anthem, Indonesia Raya. Following this, President Prabowo recited the oath of office, which was echoed by all the newly appointed ambassadors.
"In the name of God, I swear, in the name of the Lord, I promise," the ambassadors stated in unison. "That I, appointed as an Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador, will be loyal to the Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia of 1945 and will uphold all laws and regulations to the best of my ability, in service to my nation and country," they continued. The ambassadors also pledged to uphold ethical standards, perform their duties diligently, and comply with the directives of the central government in carrying out their diplomatic responsibilities. After the inauguration, President Prabowo greeted each of the newly appointed ambassadors individually.
The event was also attended by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Budi Gunawan, and Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Pratikno. Additionally, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, and DPR RI member Budi Djiwandono were present.
