TikTok Ensures Compliance With The Regulations Issued Regarding Age Restriction

Anggini Setiawan, the Communications Director for TikTok Indonesia, has affirmed the platform's commitment to adhering to any age restriction regulations that may be enacted in the future.
"In principle, we will comply with any regulations that are introduced on TikTok. We are dedicated to following these rules and providing our support," Anggini stated during an interview in Jakarta on Monday.
According to Anggini, TikTok has already implemented several features aimed at ensuring optimal safety for its younger users, particularly teenagers.
One such feature is Family Pairing, which allows parents to limit screen time and block specific content for their children.
Additionally, TikTok regularly conducts reviews and blocks accounts suspected of being operated by users under the age of 13, thereby establishing an automatic layer of security to protect teenage users.
"We have communicated this information and our efforts to the public, and we continue to promote various campaigns," Anggini remarked.
Regarding campaigns aimed at enhancing child protection in the digital space, Anggini noted that since late 2024, the company has been conducting roadshows in schools. These initiatives not only educate children about TikTok's safety features but also engage parents.
"Fortunately, the feedback has been very positive. We are also distributing booklets to help both parents and teenagers better understand how to utilize TikTok's safety features," she added.
In 2025, these activities will be further expanded, including a collaboration with a parent organization called Keluarga Kita to educate parents about the safety features available on the platform.
