Hasan Nasbi, who serves as Head of the Presidential Communications Office, revealed that President Prabowo Subianto is currently monitoring the flood disaster that hit the Bekasi area. According to his explanation, the President has made an incident so that handling of floods in various regions is carried out immediately.
"The President also highlighted several areas that are currently experiencing flooding, and has coordinated with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to handle this situation quickly," said Hasan at the Palace, Jakarta, on Tuesday evening, March 4, 2025. He also added that Bekasi is one of the President's focuses of attention, who has coordinated with BNPB to respond to the disaster.
When asked about the possibility of providing social assistance to victims, Hasan stated that this could not be confirmed.
However, he emphasized that efforts to handle flood victims would be carried out as optimally as possible. "We ensure that the handling will be carried out properly, in accordance with the President's direction to BNPB," he explained. Previously, Abdul Muhari, Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information, and Communication Center, reported the impact of flooding caused by heavy rain in Bekasi Regency and City. He said that as many as 155 houses in Bekasi had been submerged with water levels reaching 150 to 200 centimeters. Currently, the local Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) is deploying a number of rubber boats to evacuate affected residents to safer locations.
