Smartphone manufacturer OPPO announced a number of strategies to improve artificial intelligence (AI) features for its devices at the OPPO AI Tech Summit during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, ??Spain.
“When it comes to AI, user experience is ultimately what matters. Smartphones are not just vehicles for AI, they are engines that support the best AI experience,” said Billy Zhang, President of OPPO International Marketing, Sales and Service, in an official statement on Tuesday.
Collaboration with Google to enhance AI experience
As AI applications continue to grow, OPPO is enhancing its AI experience from the functional level to the system level. This requires a higher level of AI integration and security on devices.
Therefore, OPPO is integrating Google’s AI experience into its smartphone products, and Google Gemini will soon be operational in OPPO’s built-in apps such as Notes, Calendar and Clock.
“We are excited to collaborate with OPPO to shape the future of mobile AI by combining Google’s technology with OPPO’s incredible hardware and software,” said Matt Waldbusser, Managing Director of Global Solution and Consumer AI, Google Cloud.
These new capabilities will work alongside existing support for Gemini 1.5 Pro and Gemini 1.5 Flash on OPPO AI Phones.
The two companies are also working closely together to bring the latest Gemini 2.0 to OPPO smartphones soon.
To protect the security and privacy of users while accessing these deeply integrated AI features, OPPO has also implemented a Private Computing Cloud (PCC) built on Google Cloud’s Confidential Computing.
