Is Oppo Joining The Release Of A Triple-Foldable Screen Smartphone?

Oppo frequently launches its foldable smartphones in the final quarter of the year. However, the Find N5 has been released earlier, specifically in the first quarter of 2025.
This early release is speculated to be due to Oppo's preparations for a triple-foldable smartphone. Currently, Huawei stands as the sole competitor in the market with such a device.
detikINET sought confirmation from Billy Zhang, President of Overseas Marketing, Sales, and Service at Oppo. He indicated that there is a possibility of Oppo developing a triple-foldable smartphone in the future.
"Oppo consistently experiments with various phone designs. We will provide further announcements should there be any developments," he remarked with a smile during an interview following the launch of the Find N5 at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Center in Singapore.
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer is notably proactive in advancing foldable device technology, as evidenced by the innovations in display and hinge mechanisms incorporated in the Find N5.
Oppo employs an Armor Shield architecture to enhance the phone's structure. The frame of the Find N5 is constructed from a robust 7000 series aluminum alloy, and its cover display is protected by impact-resistant nanocrystal glass.
The Titanium Flexion hinge utilized is smaller yet sturdier than its predecessor, ensuring durability and longevity.
This combination has resulted in the creation of the thinnest and lightest foldable smartphone available on the market, measuring only 8.93 mm in thickness and weighing a mere 229 grams.
Additionally, the Find N5 is the first smartphone to receive the Minimized Folding Certification from TÜV Rheinland. Its Dual-Protected Flexible Display consists of nine layers, including a 0.1 mm thick stainless steel support plate, ultra-thin glass, and a top layer made from customized shock-resistant elastomer material. This combination enhances impact resistance by 70%.
Thus, we await Oppo's groundbreaking announcement regarding the release of its triple-foldable smartphone.
