The utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data has many positive impacts on the financial sector, such as accelerating financial transactions and facilitating access to financing. However, when not utilized wisely, the convenience offered can provide its own challenges for users. To overcome this, Fathan Faruqi, Content and Channel Manager of AdaKami, said that users must have the right understanding and mindset. “We must have strategic thinking, such as the purpose of using various facilities that have provided many conveniences such as AI and Big Data. If our mindset still wants something instant, then over time we will have dependence on these instant things,” said Fathan in the Ngobrol Asyik program titled Ease in One Hand of Technology on Bisnis.com's Instagram social media recently.
In the Indonesian context, the Indonesia Internet Penetration Survey 2024 released by the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), states that Gen-Z, or those born in 1997-2012, is the largest group of digital device users with a penetration rate of 34.4%, followed by millennials, who were born between 1981-1996, at 30.62%. In terms of financial literacy, based on data from the 2024 National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK) from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the younger generation in the 18-25 years and 26-35 years groups are among the groups with the highest financial literacy index, with each group having reached 70.19% and 74.82% respectively. With the widespread adoption of digital devices and access to the internet, it is increasingly important for people to have the right mindset and awareness to make good use of technology-based services.
Fathan said that AdaKami as a fintech lending service provider realizes the importance of educating so that the younger generation can have the right mindset and can maximize the use of technology. “We know that cybercrime, whether scam or phishing, continues to grow. This is a form of our commitment to ensure that people can have the right mindset and utilize technology well,” said Fathan on a separate occasion. Fathan said that AdaKami seeks to educate in various formats, ranging from direct discussions with the public to various programs on social media. Education related to financial literacy is packaged by AdaKami in the #GenerasiBijakFinansial campaign, while for digital literacy education and increased awareness related to fraud modes and efforts to overcome them (anti fraud) are packaged in the #SelaluWaspada campaign.
ll these activities are sought so that Gen Z can have a good understanding of AdaKami services that utilize the latest AI and Big Data. In line with Fathan, Anjas Maradita, AI Content Creator & Developer, also emphasized that people, especially the younger generation, need an understanding of how digital-based services work according to their needs. Thus, this technology is able to help users in developing skills and abilities, so as to get the most benefit. “The use of technology is now easier and more affordable. Through AI, there are now many options that provide various benefits. For example, as an analyst, whose need is Big Data, or the need as a content creator who does not need Big Data, so we must be selective and strategic in utilizing it according to our needs to get the maximum benefit,” added Anjas. Anjas also invited the younger generation to learn AI and adapt to AI, which can be started from the easiest-to-use AI options. “In 2030, we will just feel, where people who don't learn or adapt will be 10-15 steps behind and that is dangerous, therefore, by learning other aspects of AI, it will definitely bring benefits as well,” he explained.
