Apple has finally launched the Apple TV application for Android devices. With this introduction, Android users can now access a variety of exclusive content from Apple TV+ without the need for Apple hardware.
Previously, the application was only available on televisions running Android TV or Google TV. Now, users of Android smartphones and tablets can enjoy Apple TV+ services as well as the MLS Season Pass with greater convenience.
The application is compatible with Android devices running a minimum of Android 10. However, it remains unclear whether this rollout is gradual or limited to specific regions, such as the United States.
According to GSMArena, on February 15, 2025, users can log in with their existing Apple TV+ accounts or create a new account directly within the application.
The streaming service is priced at $9.99 (approximately IDR 162,000) per month, while the MLS Season Pass can be purchased for an additional $12.99 (approximately IDR 211,000) per month or $79 (approximately IDR 1.2 million) per season.
Additionally, live broadcasts of Friday Night Baseball can also be accessed through this application. However, Android users will not have access to the in-app store for renting or purchasing movies and TV shows.
The arrival of the Apple TV application on Android devices comes five years after the launch of Apple TV+, a move that many believe should have occurred much earlier.
