Continue The Downstream Processing; Prabowo States It Will Commence With 15 Megaprojects In 2025

President Prabowo Subianto has assured that his administration will continue the downstreaming programs initiated during the presidency of Joko Widodo, the seventh President of Indonesia. This statement was made by Prabowo during his speech at the 17th anniversary celebration of the Gerindra Party at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC) in Bogor, West Java, on Saturday, February 15, 2025. In the presence of Jokowi, Prabowo announced that the downstreaming efforts would commence with the implementation of 15 mega-projects. "We will continue our downstreaming initiatives and bring them to fruition. This year, we will initiate at least 15 mega-projects worth billions of dollars. We will start without soliciting investments from abroad," Prabowo stated, as reported by Antaranews.

The Head of State emphasized the necessity of continuing downstreaming to ensure that Indonesia's natural resource wealth is utilized optimally for the welfare of its people. Prabowo also mentioned that the Merah Putih Cabinet (KMP) adheres to a principle of openness for investors from various sources, although it will not be coercive. "We will not beg for investments. If there are those who wish to come from abroad, they are welcome. We are open to you entering Indonesia, but we will not plead. We will rise with our own strengths," Prabowo asserted. He further noted that downstreaming would support the vision of the nation's founding father, the first President of Indonesia, Sukarno, who aspired for Indonesia to achieve independence in many aspects. "We will realize Bung Karno's dream of standing on our own feet," Prabowo concluded.
