President Prabowo Subianto announced that Indonesia's new investment management body, Daya Anagata Nusantara (Danantara), is set to be launched on February 24, 2025.
This information was shared by Prabowo on Thursday, February 13, during his keynote address at the World Government Summit, which was held virtually from Dubai. He revealed that the latest sovereign wealth fund of Indonesia will be inaugurated shortly, with an initial evaluation indicating over US$ 900 billion in Assets Under Management (AUM), equivalent to approximately IDR 14,710 trillion (IDR 16,345/US$).
"Danantara, which will be launched on February 24 of this month, aims to invest our natural resources and state assets into sustainable and high-impact projects across various sectors, including renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, downstream industries, food production, and more," Prabowo stated in an official announcement.
He expressed that all these projects are expected to contribute to achieving Indonesia's economic growth target of 8%. Furthermore, he disclosed that the initial funding for Danantara is projected to reach US$ 20 billion.
"I believe this will be a transformative step. We plan to initiate around 15 to 20 projects worth billions of dollars, which will create significant added value for our country," he remarked.
"I am very confident and optimistic. Indonesia will advance at full speed," he added.
