The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemdiktisaintek) is promoting the development of the national aerospace industry through research and technological innovation.

In a statement made in Jakarta on Tuesday, the Director General of Research and Development (Dirjen Risbang) at Kemdiktisaintek, Fauzan Adziman, emphasized the importance of collaboration between academia and industry in creating a more advanced and globally competitive aviation ecosystem. Kemdiktisaintek plays a crucial role as a policy facilitator to ensure that research and development in Indonesia receive special attention and are implemented effectively and sustainably.

"The research conducted does not necessarily have to be entirely technical; it can also involve the development of supply chain strategies in Indonesia and other related aspects," he stated.

Fauzan indicated that his agency can provide support through collaborative research programs, which offer accessible opportunities to enhance the national aviation industry's supply chain.

He also noted that several major universities in Indonesia have established Science and Technology Parks (KST) as a strategic initiative to promote the downstream application of research and technological development.

"In the future, the establishment of KSTs in other universities will continue to expand to strengthen the national innovation ecosystem," he remarked.

In this context, the Rector of ITB, Tatacipta Dirgantara, highlighted the necessity of cross-sectoral government policy support to bolster the national aviation industry.

According to him, ITB is committed to proactively taking concrete steps to expedite the implementation of collaborations and ensure the realization of agreed-upon initiatives.
