Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has revealed that the presidential instruction regarding the efficiency of the state budget (APBN) and regional budget (APBD) has been issued to facilitate the implementation of the free nutritious food program (MBG). Prasetyo emphasized the necessity for budgetary savings to ensure that the program reaches all children across Indonesia.

"There may be consequences that require additional funding, so the savings we achieved previously could potentially be prioritized for the MBG program," Prasetyo stated at the TNI AU Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in East Jakarta on Thursday, January 23.

He further explained that President Prabowo has underscored the need for the government to optimize savings by being selective in the execution of work programs. "Ultimately, this will lead to adjustments within ministries and agencies as a consequence," he clarified.

Prasetyo assured that no ministry or agency has raised objections regarding the budget cuts, as all parties are united in their commitment to the success of the MBG initiative. "No colleagues in the ministries feel that their budgets have been reduced, because the spirit of this MBG program is a collective effort," he elaborated.

As is known, President Prabowo Subianto has officially issued Presidential Instruction Number 1 of 2025, which outlines the efficiency of state spending in the implementation of the APBN and APBD for the 2025 fiscal year. The total expenditure mandated for reduction from both the central and regional government budgets amounts to IDR 306.69 trillion. "The efficiency of the state budget for the 2025 fiscal year is set at IDR 306.69 trillion," as cited from Presidential Instruction 1 of 2025 on Wednesday, January 23, 2025.

The issuance of this instruction is directed towards the ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, the Commander of the National Armed Forces, the Chief of Police, the Attorney General, heads of non-ministerial government agencies, leaders of state agency secretariats, governors, and regents or mayors
