Prabowo Directs The Minister Of Finance To Implement Significant Austerity Measures, A Move That Will Astonish The World

President Prabowo Subianto has stated that he has instructed Finance Minister Sri Mulyani to implement significant budget cuts. Prabowo is committed to achieving large-scale downstream processing and industrialization that will astonish the world.
This announcement was made by Prabowo during the inauguration of an electricity project at the Jatigede Hydroelectric Power Plant in Sumedang, West Java, on Monday, January 20, 2025. He initially mentioned that an estimated budget of IDR 48 trillion is required to complete all proposed electricity projects.
"Dear friends, there are still reports of thousands of villages that lack electricity. It has been reported that we need IDR 48 trillion to address all of this," Prabowo stated. He calculated that approximately IDR 9 trillion would be needed each year during his administration to fund the project. He expressed confidence in his ability to complete it while in office.
"If IDR 48 trillion is divided by 5, what does that amount to? IDR 9 trillion? It seems that we can finish it in 5 years. It seems so," Prabowo remarked.
Furthermore, Prabowo confirmed that he has directed Minister Sri Mulyani to undertake extensive savings across all sectors. He emphasized that this initiative is aimed at facilitating large-scale downstream processing and industrialization in Indonesia, which is expected to surprise the world.
"Because I have received reports from the Finance Minister, my directive for savings in all areas has, thank God, resulted in substantial savings, enabling our nation to transform towards downstream processing and large-scale industrialization that will astonish the world, dear friends," Prabowo concluded, receiving applause from the audience.
