Effective January 1, 2025, the government, through the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP), will implement the Core Tax Administration System (SIAP). Despite some challenges during its initial launch, the introduction of Coretax is a significant step towards digitalizing and improving the information technology and database systems used by the DJP for greater effectiveness and efficiency.
Privy, as an Electronic Certification Organizer (PSrE) under the Ministry of Communication and Information, is also involved in this initiative by partnering with the DJP to provide certified electronic signatures (TTE) for tax documents through Coretax. Additionally, to support the acceleration of tax digitalization, Privy is offering free electronic certificate and electronic signature services on the Coretax application for its users.
Marshall Pribadi, CEO and Founder of Privy, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration between DJP and Privy through Coretax integration. With over 56 million users in Indonesia, this partnership shows that Privy's technology is trusted and supports the government's tax reform efforts.
"We greatly appreciate the trust DJP has placed in Privy. With certified electronic signatures and free electronic certificates from Privy, we hope to assist DJP in tax reform while providing legal validity and significantly saving time and costs. Moreover, the privacy and security of taxpayer data are our top priorities," Marshall stated in a written statement in Jakarta (January 18).
Coretax is part of the DJP's tax reform and follows Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 40 of 2018 aimed at enhancing the current system's performance. With Coretax, taxpayers will find it easier as tax obligations will be handled digitally.
Coretax requires taxpayers to use electronic signatures (TTE) for signing tax documents. Taxpayers can apply for an electronic certificate through the Privy app available on Playstore/iOS, which can then be selected as the electronic certificate on the Coretax website for signing documents. The application process and validity period of the certified TTE are regulated by PSrE.
Tax invoices for corporate taxpayers can now be issued digitally through the e-invoice and e-bupot menus on the Coretax website. Each company's representative must first verify their identity using an authorization code from the Electronic Certification Provider, including Privy, and then upload a selfie for face comparison validation by the system. It is important to register a Privy account first to simplify the identity verification process. Once the identity is saved, users will be prompted to select the Privy electronic certificate in the e-invoice signing menu and simply enter the OTP code to complete the signing process.
Furthermore, Marshall stated that the collaboration between Privy and DJP is a strategic partnership that promotes taxpayer awareness of compliance and creates a digital ecosystem in society. "It is hoped that the partnership between Privy and DJP will have a broad impact on creating a digital ecosystem while encouraging taxpayers to report taxes and improving tax services in the community," added Marshall.
