The Minister Of Industry AGK Received An Award For His Commitment To The TKDN Policy

Friday, 13 Dec 2024

The Ministry of Industry is committed to enhancing the Domestic Product Utilization Improvement Program (P3DN) to boost business enthusiasm and productivity among industry players in Indonesia. Various policies and strategic activities have been implemented to promote the P3DN program. In addition to encouraging the public to love and use local products, the Ministry is also actively pushing industries to maximize the local content level (TKDN) in every product they produce.

"Through the P3DN program, we are optimistic that we can increase productivity and competitiveness in our industries, leading to national economic growth and the welfare of our people," said Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita on Thursday (12/12).

The Minister emphasized that they are consistent in facilitating domestic industry players to obtain TKDN certification. This initiative targets not only large industries but also makes it easier for small industries to obtain TKDN certification at no cost.

"With the TKDN certification for small industries, their products will be prioritized in government procurement. This will ensure that the best local products from small industries are maximally absorbed, strengthening the national industrial structure," Agus, who also serves as the Daily Chair of the National Team for P3DN, explained.

For his commitment to implementing these policies, Minister AGK received an award from the economic media CNBC Indonesia at the CNBC Indonesia Awards 2024 event, themed “Embracing Optimism in the New Era of Indonesia.” The award was presented by CT Corp Chairman and Founder Chairul Tanjung in Jakarta on Wednesday night (11/12).

Menperin AGK received the award for "Leading Policy Maker in Strengthening Local Components and Supporting Local Companies." This recognition was given due to the effective policies implemented, which are seen as being on the right track.

"I want to express my deepest gratitude to CNBC for the trust placed in us to receive this award, which is linked to our efforts to enhance the local content level," said Menperin during his speech that evening.

AGK noted that this award is not just for him but is a recognition for his entire team at the Ministry of Industry. "In fact, the real recipients should be all the employees and officials at the Ministry of Industry, who have consistently upheld the regulations, especially those related to local content value," he stated.

During the event, Menperin mentioned that in the last three months, the issue regarding Apple has gained significant public attention, particularly because Apple has not yet been allowed to sell the iPhone 16 in Indonesia due to unmet investment commitments. "Apple has not been able to provide a commitment, so we cannot issue the 35 percent local content certificate, and as a result, we cannot grant them a sales permit in Indonesia," he explained.

Menperin emphasized that they are continuously coordinating with the Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry to facilitate Apple's investment in Indonesia. "We are collaborating with Mr. Rosan, and we definitely want Apple to bring its investment to Indonesia, which should take the form of production facilities or factories," he revealed.

AGK added that the award from CNBC will also strengthen the collective spirit to enhance the competitiveness of Indonesian industries.
