The Acting Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Nawawi Pomolango, stated that the KPK has addressed 597 corruption cases from 2019 to 2024, covering a span of five years. Nawawi highlighted that several of these cases occurred in critical sectors such as law, infrastructure development, natural resource licensing, education, and health.
"Over the past five years, the KPK has handled 597 corruption cases," Nawawi remarked during the commemoration of International Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia) 2024 at the Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Monday, December 9, 2024. He emphasized that the enforcement of anti-corruption measures aims not only to deter offenders but also to optimally recover state financial losses. He noted that in the last five years, the KPK successfully recovered assets amounting to Rp 2.4 trillion.
"The KPK has achieved asset recovery, which significantly contributes to the state revenue through Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP), totaling Rp 2,490,470,167,594," Nawawi stated. He also mentioned that for the year 2024 alone, the KPK has recovered assets worth Rp 677,593,085,560, or approximately Rp 677.5 million.
