The Minister of Communication and Digital, Meutya Hafid, welcomed the visit of the Finnish Ambassador to Indonesia, Pekka Kaihilahti. The meeting focused on exploring collaboration opportunities in the digital sector, including the development of data centers and technology knowledge transfer.
Meutya Hafid emphasized the significance of international cooperation in accelerating the national digital transformation.
"It is well known that Finland possesses expertise in digital innovation, while Indonesia is in a highly dynamic state with a continuously growing digital economy. We certainly welcome this collaboration," stated Meutya during the meeting at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Office in Central Jakarta on Friday, November 29, 2024.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of knowledge transfer in this partnership, aiming not only for investment but also to create long-term benefits for Indonesia.
"We want to ensure that this collaboration includes the transfer of knowledge and technology from Finland, thereby strengthening Indonesia's human resource capacity, enabling local technology production, and positioning the country as a global player in the digital arena," she added.
Ambassador Pekka Kaihilahti expressed his support for this initiative. He noted that Finland has experience in building efficient digital systems and is willing to share knowledge through training, technical assistance, and strategic collaboration.
"We are not only offering technology but also our experience and expertise in developing digital infrastructure and empowering human resources. We believe this cooperation can have a significant impact on both countries," said Kaihilahti.
The knowledge transfer from Finland is expected to enhance Indonesia's domestic capabilities in developing modern data centers, strengthening the digital ecosystem, and connecting communities, even in remote areas.
