The Official Announcement States That Teacher Salaries Will Increase In 2025, Along With The Details Provided

The government has officially announced an increase in salaries for teachers, Civil Servants (ASN), and non-ASN personnel, set to commence in 2025. This announcement was made directly by President Prabowo Subianto during the National Teacher's Day celebration in 2024, held at the Jakarta International Velodrome in Rawamangun, East Jakarta, on Thursday, November 28, 2024. The salary increase for teachers will take the form of welfare allowances aimed at enhancing the well-being of both ASN and non-ASN teachers.
The salary adjustments include an increase equivalent to one month's salary for ASN teachers and a sum of Rp 2 million for non-ASN teachers who have completed certification or professional education programs. According to a report from Kompas.com on November 28, 2024, the government has allocated additional funds for the welfare of ASN teachers, government employees with work agreements (PPPK), and non-ASN or honorary teachers.
President Prabowo stated in his speech at the National Teacher's Day event that "ASN teachers will receive an additional welfare allowance equivalent to one month's basic salary. For non-ASN teachers, the professional allowance has been raised to Rp 2 million." Furthermore, the government is preparing a budget for the welfare of both ASN and non-ASN teachers, which will be allocated for certification activities for teachers across all regions. Additionally, honorary teachers are promised direct financial assistance. However, details regarding the amounts and implementation specifics will be announced in 2025. The budget for the welfare of ASN and non-ASN teachers is expected to increase by approximately Rp 16.7 trillion, reaching a total of Rp 81.6 trillion.
