The Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Shanghai is actively exploring the investment and tourism potential among business actors and the community in Eastern China.
"The Indonesian government will continue to promote the creation of a conducive investment climate and adequate facilities for investors," stated Evita Sanda, Director of the Indonesia Investment Promotion Center (IIPC) in Beijing, during an event at Sinar Mas Plaza in Shanghai on Saturday, November 23, as reported in a written statement received by ANTARA in Beijing.
Evita made these remarks at the "Indonesia-China Investment Forum," part of the annual "Spirit of Indonesia" event organized by KJRI Shanghai, aimed at introducing trade, tourism, and investment products through a cultural arts showcase for the Chinese community in Shanghai.
A total of 48 participants attended the "Indonesia-China Investment Forum." Evita highlighted significant investment opportunities for China in Indonesia, particularly in the downstream processing of commodities, including sectors such as agriculture, marine, fisheries, and forestry.
In addition to investment promotion, there was also a tourism promotion through the Wonderful Indonesia Sales Mission on Friday, November 22.
"Shanghai consistently ranks among the top five sources of outbound tourists from mainland China, making it a strategic market for attracting travelers to Indonesia," remarked Berlianto Situngkir, the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Shanghai.
The tourism promotion featured ten Indonesian tourism stakeholders, including travel agents, hotels, and tourist attractions, alongside more than 15 tourism operators from China.
"This event presents a golden opportunity for Indonesia to introduce new destinations, such as Labuan Bajo, Lake Toba, Mandalika, and Likupang. These four locations are designated as Indonesia's super priority destinations, with Borobudur being the fifth super priority destination," Berlianto added.
