Rakor Nataru 2024/2025, Community Movement Potential Reaches 110.67 Million People

The survey results show that around 110.67 million people are expected to travel during the Christmas and New Year period (Nataru) 2024/2025. This was announced by Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi during a coordination meeting for Nataru preparations held at the Ministry of Human Development and Cultural Coordination in Indonesia on Friday, November 22.

"We have conducted a survey, and the results indicate that the potential movement of people during Nataru 2024/2025 will reach 110.67 million. Most of this movement will occur on Java Island, including urban areas. This is the number we are preparing for," said the Minister.

The peak of outbound travel is predicted to occur on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, with a second peak on Tuesday, December 31, 2024. The return peak is expected on Wednesday and Thursday, January 1-2, 2025.

During the same meeting, Minister of Human Development and Culture Pratikno mentioned that the coordination meeting aims to ensure that travel during Nataru 2024/2025 is safe, comfortable, and smooth. He noted that many details need to be anticipated.

"The first challenge is that we are entering the rainy season. There is also the potential for hydrometeorological disasters, so we need to prepare for heavy rain and other issues," explained Minister Pratikno.

Additionally, Minister Pratikno stated that the meeting discussed various modes of transportation that people will use during Nataru 2024/2025, including land, sea, and air travel. Infrastructure readiness is a key focus.

Present at the meeting were Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
